Teyvat, the wind of this continent, seems to be an echo from ancient times, with countless turns of fate. It gently blows over the not-so-high mountaintops, crosses every vast desert, and blows over souls with dreams. Just like my life, it may be a boundless wasteland. I want to find my own oasis, but I am often lost in the endless wind and sand.
Neuvilet, the symbol of water, her name is like her temperament, quiet, deep, and gentle. In her eyes, the waves of every lake are reflected, and they are bottomless. In her heart, there is a kind of seemingly calm tenacity hidden. Water flows endlessly, without rushing or impatient, but has an irresistible attraction. She seems to be a witness of this world, neither participating nor escaping, but just watching it all quietly, silently enduring like water, but still able to nourish gently.
Walnuts are the representative of fire. Her existence is like those bonfires burning in the middle of the night, sometimes hot and sometimes warm. There is an indescribable passion in her eyes, like a flame in a blazing fire, burning everything, but it seems to disappear in an instant. Her life, with an unstoppable turbulence, seems to burst out with stronger heat every minute and every second. However, behind the raging fire, there is a kind of fragility and anxiety. She is not a solid stone, but a flammable and explosive existence, which may be crushed at any time, and can also burn into new hope at any time.
Roy Asley, cold as ice, seems to have some ancient loneliness. Her calmness and rationality are like a world covered with snowflakes, which makes people want to touch it, but feel afraid. Her silence can even make people feel a little depressed, just like the snow-capped mountains in winter, which are beautiful but cannot be approached. Her ice and snow cool all the warmth and seal many pains, but can preserve the traces of years in the ice and snow. In her eyes, there is distrust of the world, but also a deep watch. She is not indifferent, but calmly looks at all the stories over the years. Many people have walked through her life, leaving only footprints, which are eventually buried by the wind and snow of the years.
Wendy is as light as the wind and as free as the clouds. Her existence is unrestrained and unconstrained, as if she can freely pass through any corner. The wind is silent, but it can bring changes in the four seasons. Wendy’s smile has an irresistible appeal, gentle and natural, as if it can blow away the heaviness in people’s hearts. Her heart is like the freest wind, allowing the world to change, but never changing direction. Her wandering has no purpose, just because she knows that life should not have too many constraints. Her footsteps are light and free, walking through the world with those inadvertent touches and warmth.
These elements, like my life, are interwoven into an invisible net. Every individual finds his or her own place on this continent, either low-key like Neuvillette, or fiery like walnuts, or lonely and cold like Roy Asley, or free like Wendy. However, the fate of each of us has long been controlled by the laws of this world. The wind cannot stop, the water cannot flow backwards, the fire cannot be quenched, and the ice and snow will eventually melt.
Just as I once fell into silence at a certain moment, a kind of unspeakable dilemma. Each of us is looking for the meaning of our own life in this vast world. Perhaps it is those seemingly insignificant moments that become the power for us to move forward. Just like every update of Teyvat is to welcome the next unexpected change, every choice is a turning point in life.
Perhaps it is because of the conflict and fusion of these elements that this world is so real and so complicated. It has no perfect ending, nor eternal peace. Every bit of tenderness is accompanied by hardness, and behind every bit of tenacity is an unknown fragility. And we are just a tiny part of these elements, walking through our own life journey with our own struggles and hopes.
Teyvat may be a microcosm of each of us.
